The Southport Branch began in 1967 as a small storefront in the Madison Square Shopping Center. Following acquisition of a site for a larger facility, the new 15,700-square-foot library opened in 1974 on East Stop 11 Road. Even before the move occurred, a group of Perry Township residents demonstrated support by raising more than $5,000 to provide additional books for the new library.

Join us for a concert featuring local legends, the Cohen-Rutkowski Project. Whether you know them from the Jazz Kitchen or are excited to hear them for the first time, join us to hear this jazz ensemble right in your Library!
Preschoolers ages 3 - 5 and an adult are invited for an active class featuring stories, songs and rhymes that focus on early literacy skills and school preparedness. This program will be followed by age appropriate learning activities.
Babies and toddlers up to age 3 with an adult are invited for an active class featuring stories, songs, and rhymes followed by socialization and playtime with age appropriate toys.
