Ask-a-Librarian
Sometimes you just need to ask a question. Call us, text us, or email us, and we can help with your questions about Library services, doing research, finding resources, and more.

Assistive Services
We provide services and adaptive technologies for accessing and using information with ease including accessible workstations, large type books, audio-described DVDs, closed caption DVDs, electronic books, digital magnifiers, assistive listening devices, and more.

Bookmobile & Outreach
Outreach Services brings the Indianapolis Public Library to your neighborhood. Services include public Bookmobile stops and community event appearances.

Early Learning
Early literacy services at the Indianapolis Public Library that offer a wide range of materials and early learning experiences to young children providing a foundation for the development of strong reading and listening skills.

Event and Meeting Rentals
Our locations offer spaces of all sizes and all functionality for special events, meetings, gatherings, and more!

Exam Proctoring
For a fee, Library staff at our locations can provide in-person proctoring for print or online exams in our public spaces during open hours. Online exam proctoring is subject to the availability of a public PC that supports the technical requirements.

Get Connected, Get Online
The Library offers several services to help get you connected to the internet or use computers both in our locations and at home. These services include free wi-fi, mobile printing, hotspots you can check out with your Library card, and more.

Homeschool Services
Whether you have been homeschooling for many years or just started this year, The Library can provide a wealth of resources for your home education journey! We’d love to meet your kids! Schedule field trips, tours, and programs for groups!

Homework Help
Stuck? Confused? In a hurry? Don't give up...we can help! Ask for Help at the Library in-Person or by phone, text, or email.

Immigrant Services
More than 80,000 immigrants call Indianapolis home. After making their way to the Hoosier state, they must adjust to a new culture, government, and educational system. The Library is one of many community organizations providing resources and education to immigrants, helping them adapt to their new homes.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan extends Library service beyond local boundaries by borrowing materials from other libraries for our cardholders. We also loan material from our own collection to other libraries across the state and the country.

Mobile Printing
Do you need to print an email or document and you don't have a printer at home? You can send your files to the Library printer before you even arrive at your local branch for pickup! Find out how!

Public Health Partnerships
The Library partners with community organizations to provide services that promote public health and safety at our conveniently located neighborhood branches. Services include COVID-19 vaccination clinics, free gun locks, and free lead testing kits.

Seed Library
The IndyPL Seed Library service makes free seeds available for pick-up at several branch locations. In addition to free seeds, check out resources and attend workshops about growing and using plants from your seeds!

Social Work Services
The Indianapolis Public Library's Social Work staff are here to support you with short term case management through drop-in office hours and scheduled appointments. We connect you to community resources and support equitable access to Library services for all patrons.

Wi-Fi Hotspots
Did you know you can use your IndyPL Library card to check out a device called a hotspot to connect to the internet for free? A Wi-Fi hotspot provides a link to the internet from anyplace you plug it in.

Wireless Internet Access
Wireless access points are available at all IndyPL locations allowing patrons the opportunity to connect to the internet using their own equipment in the Library.
