The Indianapolis Board of School Commissioners voted on June 25 to appoint Dr. Lisa Riolo to the Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees for a term that ends Dec. 31, 2026.
Riolo has a Ph.D. in cognitive science and is a licensed physical therapist. She is a retired endowed chair of the physical therapy department of IUPUI and is regarded as a subject matter expert in public health, supporting public health policy and initiatives.
Riolo has also worked as a volunteer for more than 15 years at Central Library, logging more than 1,000 hours.
“I feel committed to lifelong learning, equity and inclusion, and open access to education and information,” said Riolo. “I am a strong supporter of the Indianapolis Public Library and its role in our community.”
She will begin her orientation process with leadership of the Indianapolis Public Library next week.
