Indianapolis Public Library Selected for National Cybersecurity Pilot Program

The Indianapolis Public Library has been chosen by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to participate in the Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program. This three-year initiative includes 50 libraries, 645 schools and districts, and 12 consortia across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and several Tribal lands.

Designed to address rising cybersecurity threats, the $200 million pilot program will explore the use of universal service funds to enhance defenses for school and library broadband networks. Participants will receive support to offset the costs of eligible cybersecurity services and equipment, helping to protect critical infrastructure from cyberattacks while ensuring uninterrupted access to information, jobs, and lifelong learning.

This opportunity positions the Indianapolis Public Library as a leader in developing stronger protections for library systems nationwide.
