Homeschooling families and families interested in learning more about homeschooling are invited to attend a Homeschool Fair at Central Library on Saturday, July 30, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Attendees will enjoy hands-on activities, engaging speakers, free giveaways, and more than 25 vendors and resource tables. A drawing for prizes will be held at the end of the day.
“This is a great event if you are considering homeschooling, new to it, or are looking for new ideas,” said Meegan Ebacher, a Public Services Associate with the Indianapolis Public Library. “During the pandemic, many families were forced to do some version of homeschooling and that has sparked new interest in homeschooling with a lot of families that may not have considered it before. We hope to provide a wealth of resources and new connections to support families in this journey while also making sure everyone who attends has a great time.”
The Library hosted its first Homeschool Fair in 2019 and the event continues to grow. This year’s Homeschool Fair will include a presentation by Lilly scientist Guy Hansen and a keynote & book signing by local author Teresa Robeson, author of Queen of Physics and Two Bicycles in Beijing.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is preferred but not required. Families are welcome to bring snacks or lunch. There will be designated areas for eating.
This program is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
The Library has a wealth of resources for homeschooling families.
