Hip-Hop Anthology Vol. 3, the third installment of a popular art exhibit series that explores hip-hop culture’s influence on fashion, film, literature, and politics, returns to Central Library June 1 through July 3. The exhibit, curated by mixed-media artist and painter Gary Gee, features work from Tommy the Animator, a Grammy Award-winning artist from New York, alongside the work of 21 talented local artists.
Central Library will host two events alongside Hip-Hop Anthology Vol. 3. Courtyard Jam, taking place June 11 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Central Library’s East Garden, will serve as the exhibit's opening reception. Courtyard Jam will pay homage to the historical open-air vibe of the New York City park jams of the ‘70s with live DJ’s, photo booths, vendors, and food trucks. Dialogue, taking place June 21, 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium, will be a conversation with local artists centered around Hip-Hop culture.
