The grand reopening celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live entertainment for all ages. Entertainment includes music by Mr. Daniel, a Silly Safaris animal show, a children's fishing program with Go Fishin’ with Clint, and face painting and balloon twisting by Cinamon the Clown. Additional parking will be available at the adjacent Pike High School parking lot.
Closed for renovations since December 10, 2023, the updated Pike Branch boasts several new features, including:
Michael Jenkins will step into the role of branch manager. With more than 13 years of library experience, he is eager to serve the Pike community in Indianapolis.
Beginning Monday, December 11, 2023, the Pike Branch hold pickup location will be the Michigan Road Branch. You can change your pickup location to another branch by clicking “My Account” on our website, or ask a staff member for assistance.
The Pike Branch book drop will NOT be open. Patrons should return items to alternate locations.
During the closure, in addition to Michigan Road, please visit our other Northside locations: Eagle and Glendale which are both open on Sundays.
Renewals may be done in person, by phone through Telephone Renewal at 317-275-4441, or on the website at “My Account.”
If you are unable to visit one of the alternate locations or have transportation concerns, feel free to reach out to our Outreach Department at 317-275-4075 for home delivery service.
The second county branch in the library system opened in 1967 as the Westlane Branch in the Westlane Shopping Center on North Michigan Road. In 1974, the library purchased 2.76 acres on Zionsville Road from MSD Pike Township for construction of the current 13,000-square-foot Pike Branch that opened in 1986. Its design was cited by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The branch was remodeled and expanded to 20,000 square feet in 1999.
