What was known as the Shelby Branch began in 1918 when the library was housed in old School No. 34. A new branch was constructed in 1965 at the current Shelby Street location. Following a major renovation, the branch reopened in 2011 as the Garfield Park Branch, reflecting the desire of residents to refer to the branch by their beloved and adjacent Garfield Park.

Children ages 3-6 will join React Kids to act out classic fairytales and nursery rhymes! Can you be a snake or a bunny? After reading the story, act it out!
Increase mobility and flexibility through a series of maneuvers in our pet training obstacle course. Inspire movement, problem-solving, and strengthen fine motor skills with each challenge. This program is for ages 6-12.
Adults needing help with creating a resume, searching for a job or career online, or filling out an online job application are invited to receive free one-on-one assistance.
